Personvernerklæring
How we collect and handle your information across the FOMO campus — membership, meeting rooms, events, and everything at Funky FOMO.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the FOMO Group handles personal data collected through the website fomo.no (the ‘Website’) and in connection with enquiries, communications and services arising from it.
The data controller for personal data collected through the Website is Wild Bill AS (organisation number 929 796 071), the parent company of the FOMO Group, with its registered and visiting address at Grenseveien 21, 4313 Sandnes, Norway. Where personal data relates to a specific FOMO Group company (for example FOMO Works AS, Funky FOMO AS, FOMO Design AS or Slingshot AS), that company may act as controller for the relevant processing. All FOMO Group companies share the address above.
We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act (personopplysningsloven).
The personal data we collect
We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Information you provide to us — when you complete a contact, enquiry or event sign-up form, or contact us by email or telephone, we collect details such as your name, email address, telephone number, company name and the content of your message.
- Technical and usage data — when you visit the Website, our servers and analytics tools may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 5 below.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data through the Website, and we ask that you do not submit such information through our forms.
How we use personal data
We process personal data for the following purposes, relying on the legal bases indicated:
- To respond to enquiries and communicate with you — to answer questions, follow up on your interest in our workspaces, services or events, and provide the information you request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and/or steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- To administer events and bookings — to register your participation, manage attendance and contact you about events you have signed up for. Legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request, and/or your consent where applicable.
- To operate, maintain and improve the Website — to ensure the Website functions correctly, to analyse usage and to improve content and performance. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving our Website, and your consent for non-essential cookies.
- To send marketing communications — where you have requested them or where otherwise permitted by law. Legal basis: your consent, or our legitimate interest in marketing to existing business contacts. You may opt out at any time.
- To comply with legal obligations — for example bookkeeping, accounting and responding to lawful requests from authorities. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
Recipients of personal data
We may share personal data with:
- Companies within the FOMO Group, where relevant to handling your enquiry or providing services to you;
- Service providers and processors who support us, such as hosting, IT, analytics, email and customer-management providers, who process data on our behalf and under written agreements;
- Public authorities or third parties where we are required to do so by law or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies and analytics
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to function correctly, to remember your preferences and to understand how the Website is used. We use tag management and analytics tools (including Google Tag Manager) to collect aggregated usage statistics. Essential cookies are necessary for the Website to operate. Non-essential cookies — including analytics and marketing cookies — are only used where you have given consent. You can manage or withdraw your cookie consent through your browser settings or any cookie controls provided on the Website. Disabling certain cookies may affect how the Website functions.
International transfers
Personal data is primarily processed within Norway and the European Economic Area (EEA). Where any of our service providers process personal data outside the EEA, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection in accordance with the GDPR, such as relying on European Commission adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Enquiry and contact data is generally kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where data forms part of accounting records, it is retained in line with Norwegian bookkeeping requirements, which generally require accounting documents to be kept for five years. When personal data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under applicable data protection law you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
- request restriction of, or object to, our processing in certain circumstances;
- request the portability of data you have provided to us;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before to withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 11. We will respond within the timeframes required by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. While we work to safeguard your information, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Right to complain
If you believe we have processed your personal data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, www.datatilsynet.no). We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first.
