The magic journey of FOMO
A bet placed in the worst possible market.
In 2019, we took over 35,000 square metres of empty office space on Forus — in the middle of the worst commercial vacancy crisis the region had ever seen. We deliberately excluded the oil industry. Two months after opening, Covid hit. The banks got nervous. We wrote a report on how to survive. We anchored it not in spreadsheets, but in something more fundamental: the human need to gather has never changed. Not through pandemics, not through wars, not through downturns. We were right.
In the three years that followed, FOMO achieved 100% market share of new office signings on Forus. Every company that moved, moved here. One new employee per day since we opened in October 2019. Some people call it luck. Christian Ringnes – who has built one of Norway's largest real estate portfolios – called it “the 8th wonder of the world” when he came to visit."
“We built FOMO because the most ambitious people in this region deserves a place that matches their drive and passion.”
FOMO's work has resulted in people from all over the world seeking out Rogaland to take part in new industrial adventures.
Play to win. Powerful community. Wow! with substance.
FOMO exists to give ambitious people and companies the framework they need to succeed on their journey.
The idea underneath the architecture
Your Workplace Shapes Who You Become.
Your surroundings are not neutral. They shape your energy, your network, and your ambitions.
Community Is Not A Bonus, It's Infrastructure.
The best ideas emerge when different perspectives meet. Big ideas at the same lunch table. That's not coincidence, that's design.
Rogaland Can Become The Region The World's Best Minds Choose
Because we're building arenas that make it worth choosing – and staying.
The founder’s vision
“Collaboration is a central part of people's everyday lives and their ability to survive. Yet ever since the industrial revolution, business has placed people in rows to perform individual tasks. The world's leading companies broke this pattern long ago, and applaud interaction, collective thinking and creativity over individualism, coercion and control.
It is no longer a question of if, but when the traditional way of organising an office is also completely outdated. We believe the time is now. That is why we will develop one of the world's largest coworking spaces and meet the human needs for inclusion and belonging.
FOMO will put the employee at the centre. Already now we see trends showing that employees increasingly determine the geographical location of companies. We will strive to make the working day simple, exciting and fun. We do not care about the status quo. We create 'spaces' where the young talent of today and tomorrow want to work.”
